Are you looking for an effective safe, non-surgical facelift? Then look no further.
The Newport Beach MedSpa offers non-invasive cosmetic treatment known as Ultherapy, to tighten your skin using cutting-edge technology. Read on to know how the procedure is performed.
What is Ultherapy?
It is a non-surgical cosmetic procedure that lifts and tightens the skin of your face, neck, and chest. Ultherapy is also known to fight signs of aging such as wrinkles, and fine lines.
The collagen in our skin begins to deplete as we age, this makes the skin dull, thin, and loose. The ultrasound energy is used which targets the underlying layers of the skin, and muscles in deeper layers. The energy heats the tissues and stimulates the collagen production. This lifts and tightens the sagging skin, and also improves the elasticity.
How Does Ultherapy Work?
Ultherapy uses ultrasound energy released from a focused ultrasound device. The device used is similar to the one used during a pregnancy ultrasound, however, the ultherapy device emits various frequencies of ultrasound energy. This targets the superficial layers of the skin, and also the muscles in the deeper layers. The energy released heats the layers targeted which stimulates collagen production. The new collagen produced helps in lifting and tightening of the skin.
What to Expect During an Ultherapy Treatment?
Not much preparation is required since ultherapy is a non-invasive procedure.
Before the procedure
- Your cosmetic surgeon will evaluate your skin to assess your skin type and your specific goals.
- Your medical history will be evaluated to prevent any post-treatment complications.
- If you are not a candidate for ultherapy, your specialist will recommend other treatment options for you.
Day of the procedure
- On the day of your treatment, you will be made to lie down on the bed.
- You will be asked to remove any jewelry from the area being treated (face, neck, chest).
- The area to be treated will be washed with a mild cleanser.
- A surgical skin marker is used to assess and map the areas, to determine the level of frequency to be used.
- An ultrasound gel will be applied over the area which aids in smooth gliding of the applicator on your skin.
- You may feel a warm, tingling sensation, as the ultherapy device works up to heat the tissues under your skin.
- After the treatment, your specialist will apply a soothing cream to prevent any discomfort.
- Ultherapy sessions typically last between 30 to 60 minutes.
